Branded resale. Built with Drupal.
A branded resale channel needs the customer experience and the operation behind it to work together. SDEV created and owns Resale Preloved, a white-label platform connecting storefronts, seller journeys, moderation, payments and logistics.
Your brand.A connected resale journey.
Every pre-owned item has its own seller, condition and history. A resale channel needs more than a checkout: listings, review, delivery and payouts must work together.
SDEV created Resale Preloved as a white-label product that brands can adapt to their identity, systems and operating model.
The experience.And the operation.
SDEV designed and developed the platform, connecting the buying and selling experience with the tools needed to manage listings, orders and fulfilment. The headless architecture lets the brand-facing interface and the operational platform evolve separately.

Headless on the surface.Connected underneath.
Brands need a distinctive storefront alongside a dependable resale operation. Next.js provides the customer and seller experience; APIs connect it to Drupal and Drupal Commerce.
Drupal holds listings, sellers, orders and content, with custom moderation workflows and administration tools. This gives the team a shared operational foundation behind the storefront.
Solr supports catalogue search and matching. Payment, payout and logistics integrations connect the transaction with fulfilment for each brand implementation.

Product & technology
What is Resale Preloved?
Resale Preloved is a white-label resale platform created and owned by SDEV. It connects a branded storefront with seller listings, moderation, commerce, logistics and seller payouts, giving brands a connected foundation for selling pre-owned products.
Can a brand launch a resale channel under its own identity?
Yes. Resale Preloved is adapted to each brand’s identity, seller journey and operating workflows. SDEV establishes the configuration, integrations and custom development needed for the brand implementation.
Which technologies power the resale platform?
Resale Preloved combines a Next.js and TypeScript frontend with Drupal and Drupal Commerce for content, listings, sellers and orders. Solr supports catalogue search and product matching. APIs connect the storefront to the backend and the payment and logistics services used by each implementation.
Why use headless Drupal Commerce for branded resale?
A headless architecture separates the customer-facing experience from the operational platform. In Resale Preloved, Next.js provides the storefront and seller journeys, while Drupal Commerce manages the underlying content and commerce relationships. SDEV connects these layers through APIs so frontend changes and operational workflows can be developed separately.
Operations & integrations
How are seller listings and moderation managed?
The platform connects the seller listing journey to Drupal administration and custom moderation workflows. Brand teams can manage listings, sellers, stores and order activity behind the storefront. The review process is adapted to the brand’s operating requirements.
How does the platform handle payments and seller payouts?
Payment and seller payout flows are connected to the commerce operation. The live Marimekko implementation uses Stripe. Provider selection and the detailed payment and payout workflows are established for each brand implementation.
Can Resale Preloved connect to a brand’s existing systems and logistics providers?
Connected systems and logistics are part of the implementation scope. SDEV defines the required data flows and integrations around the brand’s existing environment. Marimekko uses Posti for logistics; other providers and systems require their own integration assessment and development.
Launch & partnership
Can an existing resale platform be migrated to Resale Preloved?
SDEV migrated contacts and listings for the Marimekko launch. For another platform, migration scope depends on the available source data, its structure and the records that need to be carried forward. Those requirements are assessed as part of the implementation.
Which brand is using Resale Preloved?
Marimekko’s resale experience has run on Resale Preloved since December 2024. SDEV delivered the migration, Stripe payment integration and Posti logistics integration, working with input from Marimekko.
What does SDEV deliver beyond the resale storefront?
SDEV designs and develops the platform architecture, Drupal Commerce backend, seller workflows, moderation tools and connected-system integrations. SDEV owns Resale Preloved and continues its product development, bringing responsibility for the customer experience and the operation together.
Roadmap & AI
Ideas for future development. These capabilities are not live.
Does Resale Preloved already include AI features?
Further AI-supported capabilities are planned. The live platform described in this case is the commerce foundation: storefront, search, seller listings, moderation, payments, logistics and payouts. Planned AI capabilities are separate from those confirmed live workflows.
What could an AI shopping assistant help shoppers find?
A future shopping chat could turn a shopper’s size, style, budget and occasion into suggestions from the available resale catalogue. It could explain why an item matches, offer alternatives and link to the product page.
Could AI help shoppers decide before buying?
A future purchase-support assistant could help shoppers compare items, understand condition descriptions and find information about delivery and the purchase process. Answers would need to use verified product and brand information, with a route to human support.
Could AI make creating a seller listing easier?
A future seller assistant could help draft titles and descriptions from the seller’s input, suggest relevant product attributes and flag missing details. Sellers and moderators would stay in control of the listing and approval process.
