Watch the situation. Make the next decision.
Medinius’s nursing simulation asks learners to prepare a patient for an operation. SDEV delivered the video production and post-production, prepared the questions and built the React application that connects the filmed scenes with decisions and feedback.
A practical situation. An active role for the learner.
Preparing a patient for an operation involves a series of checks and decisions. Medinius’s simulation brings that situation into a learning exercise, asking learners to notice details and choose a response.
Questions sit within the scenario, close to the situations they refer to. This gives learners a way to check their understanding as the exercise unfolds.
Video, questions and feedback. One connected experience.
SDEV delivered the video production and post-production editing, preparing the filmed material as a sequence of learning scenes. The work also included preparing the questions that ask learners to notice details and respond to the situation.
SDEV then built the React application connecting those scenes with questions, timed prompts and answer feedback. Video sequences alternate with decisions: correct answers advance the exercise, while other answers receive feedback and allow another attempt.

Start the exercise
The opening screen introduces the short simulation and invites the learner to begin.

Understand the situation
The patient briefing provides the information the learner needs for the decisions ahead.

Watch the scene
A filmed sequence establishes the situation before the identity-check question appears. Silent preview.

Answer while the timer counts down
The question appears over the scene. The countdown runs as the learner chooses a response; a correct answer is highlighted in green. Silent screen recording.

Watch the next sequence
The next video segment continues the scenario before the question about the planned operation. Silent preview.

See feedback on the decision
The countdown continues while the learner responds. An incorrect choice is highlighted in red before another attempt. Silent screen recording.
React coordinates the interaction. Video carries the scenario.
The video editing and question preparation shaped the guided sequence. React manages playback, the available answers and progression between scenes, bringing the production work and the interaction together.
The simulation and the Medinius LMS support different parts of training. This case covers SDEV’s video production and interactive learning work; the LMS case covers the Drupal platform for courses, learner progress and reporting.

The learning experience
What did SDEV deliver for Medinius’s nursing simulation?
SDEV delivered the full video production and post-production editing, prepared the questions and developed the React application connecting scenes with timed decisions, feedback and progression.
What does the learner do in the simulation?
The learner takes the role of a nursing professional preparing a patient for an operation. Questions ask them to notice details and make decisions as the scenario unfolds.
How does answer feedback work?
A correct answer advances the guided sequence. Other responses receive answer-specific feedback and allow the learner to try again.
What is the purpose of the timed prompts?
Timed prompts encourage a response at particular points in the exercise, keeping the question connected to the situation shown in the video.
Technology & SDEV’s contribution
Which technology runs the simulation?
React coordinates video playback, visible questions, answer feedback and progression. The scenario is built from video segments and question definitions.
How does this relate to the Medinius LMS?
The simulation is an interactive video application. The Medinius LMS is the Drupal learning platform for courses, learner progress and reporting. They are distinct examples of SDEV’s work for Medinius.
Did SDEV also produce and edit the videos?
Yes. SDEV handled the video production and post-production editing, prepared the questions and brought the material together in the interactive application.
Can SDEV create a similar interactive learning experience?
SDEV’s Medinius work combines video production, editing, question preparation and application development. A new project starts with the teaching scenario, the decisions learners should practise and the feedback needed at each step.
Make learning active. Build the experience.
